Training on reuse and circular economy in packaging in Georgia, in collaboration with GIZ

Updated: Jan 11

Mid-November 2023, InOff Plastic delivered a two-day training to 20 participants representing national environmental NGOs, businesses across the hospitality, retail and night clubs sectors as well as policy representatives from the Tbilisi City Hall and from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.

The training was organized in line with the Circular City Labs project conducted by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The training aimed at:

  1. Strengthening participants’ knowledge and understanding of the fundamentals of circular economy and reuse in packaging,

  2. Assessing the current maturity of the reuse industry from a legal, business and consumer standpoint, at national, European and global level,

  3. Understanding the stakes and opportunities generated by reuse systems,

  4. Deep diving into concrete best practices of viable reuse systems deployed in the hospitality, retail and HoReCa sector (including night clubs), as well as at municipality level.

The training was composed both of group sessions – making participants’ dig into their knowledge and learn from one another – and presentations from InOff Plastic to structure and solidify learnings.
