solutions develop reuse, refill, bulk models on different product categories (e.g. food, beverages, personal care), market segments (e.g. B2B, B2C, off-trade, on-trade) and with different product constraints (e.g. modified atmosphere, fresh products).
solutions develop alternatives to single-use plastic packaging: alternatives that are better recycled as well as biodegradable, water soluble and even edible solutions
of the solutions are already mature or are scaling up their activities in the reuse field and plastic alternatives (Technology Readiness Level 8 and 9).
INTERNATIONAL NETWORK OF PARTNERS
To feed its knowledge of innovations emerging worldwide regarding reuse or single-use plastic alternatives, InOff Plastic is a member of several networks all over the world.
North America
The Reusable Packaging Association (RPA) is a global organisation which brings together suppliers, users, and service providers of the reusable packaging system
InOff Plastic stays up to date with the players, best practises and emerging projects around reuse in the United States.

South East Asia
InOff Plastic is part of The Incubation Network (TIN) launched in South East Asia by The Circulate Initiative and the consulting firm SecondMuse in order to limit the flow of plastic waste dumped in our oceans.
This network enables InOff Plastic to identify and promote reuse models and alternatives to single-use plastic packaging in the region.
Europe
Réseau Consigne, Réseau Vrac and KIDV’s Community of Practice bring together key players working in the reuse and alternatives field respectively in France and the Netherlands to share knowledge and good practices on this topic.
By exchanging regularly with these networks, InOff Plastic constantly feeds its knowledge of actors designing and setting up reuse projects and alternatives in Europe.
InOff Plastic is also used to work alongside other institutions, academic partners and consultants to increase its workforce and expertise on specific topics and projects :

INTERNATIONAL SCOPE OF ACTION
InOff Plastic has co-created single-use plastic free offers in the United States, Southeast Asia and Europe with corporate clients operating in the food, retail and hospitality sectors.
InOff Plastic is currently supporting the hotel Intercontinental Marseille – Hotel Dieu in its transition to reduce its plastic footprint. The project consists in replacing 18 of the most impactful single-use plastic product or packaging used in the hotel by viable single-use or reusable alternatives.
InOff Plastic was selected by the Beyond Plastic Med (BeMed) to ensure the implementation of this project. InOff Plastic has:
-
identified potential alternatives to the 18 products or packaging,
-
for each of these alternatives, it has found suppliers that are relevant in terms of pricing, location and volumes.
The alternatives will be tested in the hotel in the coming months and InOff Plastic is currently coordinating the different stakeholders involved to make this test possible (the hotel leading team, a scientific comittee that judge the alternative's relevance, researchers in social science that analyze consumer's acceptance of the alternatives, a design studio that creates the project's communication toolkit and the BeMed team). At the end of the project a whitebook will be created to share the best practices of this project and facilitate the launch of similar projects in other hotels.
The association Beyond plastic Med was created in January 2019. It has been launched at the international conference “Plastic in the Mediterranean: beyond the observations, what are the solutions?” in Monaco in March 2015 as the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation approached the Tara Ocean Foundation, Surfrider Foundation Europe and the MAVA Foundation to join forces to tackle plastic pollution in the Mediterranean Sea, the most polluted sea in the world.
