Join the BOOST'R consortium

Updated: Jan 24

Thursday, June 22, 2023, was a great day for deposits! Thursday 22 June 2023 was a great day for deposits! The Secretary of State for Ecology, Bérangère Couillard, announced that France would be introducing a deposit on certain glass packaging within two years.

This announcement is in line with France's commitment to achieving a recycling rate of 5% by 2023 and 10% by 2027, as well as the €50 million that the eco-organisation Citeo will be allocating every year from 2023 to 2027 to support the development of the sector.

However, the current situation is that reuse accounts for less than 1% of packaging in France, and "if we continue on this trajectory, at this rate, by 2029 we won't even reach the targets set for 2025", as the Secretary of State points out.

👏 This is why InOff Plastic has joined forces with Bout' à Bout' to offer producers and distributors the chance to join the BOOST'R consortium, a consortium dedicated to supporting the scaling up of the glass container reuse sector in Western France - from Brittany to New Aquitaine.

📌 This consortium is a first in France: its ambition is to offer 1,500 references of reusable glass containers in 200 additional points of sale, to democratize re-use throughout the Grand Ouest region. Come and join us!

💡 What makes it special? Led by InOff Plastic and capitalizing on its experience with Planet Reuse and its European projects BOOST'R will provide European insight into good practices in the sector so that the consortium's decision-making benefits from the lessons learned from European reuse solutions and is aligned with European standards currently being developed.
