❌ The beauty industry creates 120 billion units of packaging every year, contributing to the loss of 18 million acres of forest every year.

❌ More than 40% of the total plastic usage in the world is for single-use packaging.

❌ 95% of beauty packaging is thrown away after just one use and only 14% of plastic goes to a recycling center.

---------- #Reduce , #Reuse and then #Replace -------------

♻️ Beauty Kitchen UK Ltd has set up refilling machines that consumers can use to refill existing jars with products like shampoos, conditioners or facial cleansers.

♻️ Its goal is to set up 1,000 such machines across the UK, which will help save 100 million single-use bottles that would otherwise end up in landfills. The refill stations are touch screen operated and dispense reusable aluminum bottles to fill-in the products. Beauty Kitchen promotes the concept of reusing the packaging instead of recycling.

♻️ Consumers can send the empty packaging back to Beauty Kitchen via free post or drop off any empty bottles that have the “Re” (Re Bottle) logo at any Holland & Barrett store in UK, Ireland, Belgium and The Netherlands, to receive discounts. These bottles will be washed and reused by Beauty Kitchen.

👏 Congratulations to Jo-Anne Chidley for Beauty Kitchen’s nomination as one of the UK’s 50 most disruptive companies.
